Our club is always open to new members, whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced archer.
If you have little or no experience of archery (maybe you tried it on holiday or at an event), you'll need to take part in a beginner's course before you join the club. We run a four-week course approximately every two months throughout the year. The course introduces you to the sport, and teaches you basic safety and etiquette. You can sign up for a course here.
If you've taken a beginner's course at another club, and still have the certificate, you'll be able to join our club straight away, provided the course was Archery GB approved, or covered similar material.
Likewise, if you've previously been an Archery GB member, you can join our club if you can provide your old AGB membership number.
If you're currently a member of another archery club, and would like to transfer your membership to us (maybe because of a move, or because your old club no longer suits you), this can easily be arranged. Normally this means shooting at Keyworth as a guest, then transferring membership at renewal time in September.
Lastly, If you're a self-taught archer with no formal club experience, we'll be happy to assess you and provide some orientation so that you know how archery works at our club. We reserve the right to ask you to join a beginner's course if we feel you would benefit from doing so.
Our fees for the current year are listed here. These fees include membership of Archery GB, as well as membership of the county and regional archery societies. These additional memberships will allow you to shoot in competitions, as well as providing insurance when you shoot at one of our ranges.
There is an additional small charge whenever you come along to shoot. This covers the hire of the venue and the cost of wear and tear on equipment, and replacing target faces. There is no charge for coaching; this is free as part of membership.
Basic archery kit is available for use by all members at no charge.
